I am very excited to be a part
of Anna ISD. I look forward to working with the students of
Anna Middle School. I graduated from Meridian High School,
Meridian, Texas in 1982. I received my Bachelor of Science
degree in 1986 and my Master of Education degree in 1993
from Tarleton State University in Stephenville. This year
begins my 21st year in education - 15 as a
counselor. Other districts I have worked for include
Clifton, Whitney, Rio Vista, Johnson Co. Special Education,
Conroe, Maypearl, and Hawkins. I have worked in elementary,
middle school, high school, and special education as a
teacher, counselor and coach.
My husband, Stony, is the
Athletic Director in Howe and we have three children, Bo,
Lexi and Carly. Our son attends Dallas Baptist University
and is a member of the Patriot baseball team. Our two
daughters attend JKB Elementary and we live in Anna.

Homework
Tips |
TAKS is
April 16-20. Please help us by making sure your
student is present this week and schedule all
doctor, dentist and other appointments for
another time. Please see that your child gets a
good night’s rest each night.
Based on
the results from the teacher/student
Safe and Civil
Schools survey conducted at the
beginning of the year, AMS has implemented the
Character Counts program. The
Six Pillars of Character are
trustworthiness, respect, responsibility,
fairness, caring, and citizenship. Students are
caught showing these character traits in and
around school and can win prizes in our weekly
drawings.

- Write down
assignments in your planner as soon as your
teacher gives them to you.
- Check your
planner before leaving school to make sure you
have everything you need to complete homework
for the evening.
- File papers in
your binder as you receive them.
- Make "to do
lists" each day. As you complete
assignments, check them off.
- Place your
completed assignments in your binder by the door
before you leave for school.

FYI |
Study
for Tests |
I have
been visiting the 8th grade History
classes with Mrs. Reutelhuber from the high
school and all 8th grade students
have selected their courses for next year.
Students will have two chances to make any
changes to their schedule before school begins.
In May, Mrs. Reutelhuber will send each student
a list of his/her courses requested. At this
time, the parent and student must sign it and
return it with any changes that need to be
made. In July or August an official schedule
will be sent home. If something is not correct
or any changes are requested, this will be the
last time a student or parent may request
changes.
Once school begins, no schedules will be
changed.
|
- Schedule time to
prepare for tests over several days.
- Divide the
information into sections and read over them.
- Decide what
could be on the test and make flash cards with
the information on them.
- Take a practice
test by having someone ask you questions.
- Be sure to have
a good night's sleep the night before the test
and eat a healthy breakfast.
